Getting started
You need an account to sign up for a marathon, to work on one or to organize one. Watching a public schedule or donating doesn't need one.
Signing in
There are no passwords. Sign in with Twitch, Kick, Google or Discord. You can link the other platforms to the same account later on the account page, so it doesn't matter which one you use first.
Your profile
The Account page (in the menu under your avatar) holds your runner profile: display name, pronouns, country, time zone and channels (Twitch, Kick, YouTube and one other link).
You fill this in once. Every signup reads it, so you never type your channel again on a form. A signup needs a profile with a name and at least one channel; if yours is missing, the signup page sends you to the account page and brings you back afterwards.
Linked accounts are verified. When your Twitch or Kick account is linked, Speedthon asks the platform for your handle, shows it read-only and marks it verified. Staff see that check mark when they review your signup. Unlinking keeps the handle as plain text that you can edit, without the check. YouTube can't be verified yet.
Events
Events lists the marathons you can follow or sign up for. A marathon shows up once its organizers publish it or open signups.
Organizer access
A new account can sign up, volunteer, watch and donate. To create your own organization, ask for organizer access: Organize a marathon on the home page leads to the Request organizer access button. Write a few words about who you are and what you want to run. A platform admin answers with a message, and the answer arrives in your notifications.
Once approved, Manage appears in the header. That is where you create organizations and reach the ones you belong to.
Notifications
The bell in the header has two parts.
The top lists what you still have to do: signups waiting for review, accepted runs that aren't scheduled yet, commentary requests waiting for your answer. Each item links to the page that resolves it and disappears when the work is done.
Below that are events: your signup was accepted, your run was scheduled or moved, someone offered to commentate your run, a new signup arrived. Unread ones count in the badge. Click one to open it, or Mark all read.
Notifications are in the app only. Email and Discord messages are not sent yet.
Language and theme
The globe in the header switches between English and Brazilian Portuguese, and the moon switches between dark and light. Both are remembered in your browser. Overlays use the language set on the marathon, not yours.
